Niels Horsted, head of marketing for LEGO Technic comments that “not only will the Wheel Loader be our star machine for 2014- it may even be our best seller ever”. For those who are unaware, Technic is a line if Lego interconnecting plastic rods and parts. The purpose of the Technic line is to create more advanced models with more complex movable arms, such as machines with wheels, in addition to the simpler brick-building properties of normal LEGO. This concept was introduced in 1977, so the thought that this could be the best selling product ever is HUGE!

The set became available August 1, and retails for about $250. Included is 1,636 pieces that once assembled can actually be driven around via a remote control. The mini L350F can lift up to 2.2 pounds of material and has the largest bucket LEGO has ever built for a set.

Here at Blackbird Asset Services we spend the majority of our time appraising and auctioning equipment. It isn’t often that we get the opportunity to build a piece of equipment and then drive it around. I know that my son will be excited to play with this- after I build it myself.
